Anura Indulkar, PhD is an Associate Principal Scientist in the Oral Formulation Sciences organization at Merck & Co., Inc since Mar 2025. She received her PhD in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy from Purdue University in 2017. She earned her Master’s in Pharmaceutics from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali, India in 2012 and Bachelor’s in pharmacy from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India in 2010. Prior to joining Merck, Anura worked in the Drug Product Development organization at AbbVie for 7.5 years. Her industrial experience encompasses preformulation and clinical formulation development with expertise in physicochemical characterization of molecules, biopharmaceutics & oral absorption and preclinical/clinical formulation development and manufacturing. Anura has strong background in the area of oral drug product development with specialization in supersaturated systems and amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs). She has co-authored 28 peer reviewed research papers and presented at conferences. Anura’s contributions to AbbVie were recognized by Early Career Award in AbbVie in 2022 and R&D President awards.
