About me
Imre is a preformulation scientist with experience in materials characterization and th physical properties evaluation of pharmaceuticals. He is responsible for managing the preformulation function at Ardena Somerset by supporting the hot melt extrusion, oral solids, spray dry, nano-milling, and lipid based platforms. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and validating methods for both X-ray powder diffraction ID, semi-quant, and quant projects and dry and wet (aqueous/non-aqueous) laser light scattering particle size for cGMP release of bulk API and oral solid dosage form products. In addition, he is responsble for non-cGMP preformulation activities including solids characterizaton, polymorph evaluation, and excipient compatibility. His interests include expanding Ardena's characterization services by partnering with 3rd party laboratories to conduct micro-computed X-ray tomography, Raman imaging, and energy dispersive spectroscopy studies. Prior to joining Ardena, he led the Physical Pharmaceutics group at Catalent, was part of the Materials Science group at Bristol-Myers Squibb, and gained experience in the imaging and coatings industries after earning his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
